A Slow Monday

Well, last night's near-loss for the Seattle Seahawks was a little disappointing, but the game was so close that it was still fun to be there in person. Unfortunately, the slight sore throats and crackling ears my husband and I had on Friday, developed into full-blown colds for the both of us on the drive/ferry trip home last night.

I'm thankful that my *stress-reliever* is cooking, so we have a freezer full of homemade soups, chili, etc.

I'd have to say, I'm not one of those people who loves cooking. When I'm tired, it's just about the last thing I want to do, yet whenever I've got big problems milling around in my head, my first instinct is to cook something... often several things at a time which is nice, but leaves the kitchen as a war-zone.

When you're battling stress, whether from family illness, deadlines, friends, work, unemployment, naughty kids, etc, what do you do to get rid of your stress? ...and what do your characters do when you throw a whole pack of hurdles and troubles their way?

  1. well yesterday I was stressed as comments not working. Had to switch to crome for SSS. I did send you a message - more than one I think. Stress and me? I try not to do too much - like today - determined to do one thing at a time. Apparently one of my characters in stress has a hissy fit

  2. Sorry, I've literally been home 2 days in the last week and a half, so I've fallen a bit behind in email/etc. After I pick up the pets from jail (the kennel) and give the dog a bath, I'm going to read the SSS entries and catch up on my email/etc.

  3. I clean when I'm stressed or upset...some kind of Mr.Clean demon takes over and I lose control to the scrubbers and broom.

  4. Oddly, the one thing that is a great stress reliver for me is something I really avoid doing...though I really should do it more often: exercising. When I'm stressed, exercising seems to yank the stress right out sometime between leg spasm number 1 and charlie horse number 2.

  5. I clean when I'm stressed. I feel a need to put things in order. But what really works is exercising -- and doing it regularly. I walk every day and wear a pedometer to ensure I do 10,000 steps (about 4.25 miles for me).

In my latest release, Unexcpected Consequences, my heroine bakes she's stressed. In another erotic romance I have under submission, my heroine swims to de-stress.

Type me out a line of Shakespeare or a line of nonsense. Dumb-blonde-jokes & Irish jokes will make me laugh myself silly :)
