Argh. Details.

My dear husband politely informed me last night that Triss' favourite drink (Dr. Pepper & Cherry Coke mixed 50/50) would be impossible to get at a fast food restaurant since they carry Pepsi OR Coke products... not both.

And Dr. Pepper is a Pepsi product.

Yargh.

Details, smetails.

Sigh.

...I suppose I should make a mental note to correct that during the editing process. Hmmmmm I wonder else would mix well with Dr. Pepper... maybe vanilla Pepsi?

Any funny little consistency hiccups in your own WIP's?

  1. Oh wow! That's really good that he noticed that. I didn't know restaurants only carried one or the other!

    1. I never really thought about it either... since I'm not really big on pop/soda. I find it too sweet.

My carbonated-drink-of-choice is just plain soda water, usually with a slice of lime or lemon.

  2. Um...well, depending on the location, some places may do a double sided fountain machine with Coke products on one side and Pepsi products on the other. However, if you do decide to change it up, perhaps Wild Cherry Pepsi can be her poison...not that it's mine...okay...I admit it. I am addicted to Wild Cherry Pepsi.

Oh. You never asked about my addiction. Just ignore that then :-)

    1. Wild Cherry Pepsi it is!

...I never knew such a thing even existed!

Thanks, Angela! Your fingerprint will now be in this story ;)

  3. Just saw this for a quick comment--almost got it all written but real life interrupting - in the US they make carry both...vanilla pepsi (i'm a coke drinker) sounds pretty gross, then again, remember you're a writer.... poetic liscene ...

    1. I'm not big on the poetic licence thing... Seriously, when I beta-read for other people, most of my comments are about facts. How things logical work/fit together.

I couldn't stand making a mistake like that in my own work...

    1. Yeah, considering he's never read a word of it... I was just telling him some of the funny little details about the characters :)

      So yes, very lucky ;)
