Today be International Talk Like A Pirate Day, so hoist the Jolly Roger all yee scurvy, swashbuckling swine and order up a shot 'o rum from yer local bar wench and sing a round of, '15 Men on a Deadman's Chest' with me.

Blistering Barnacles - loved your comment on the critique post at Rach's blog about giving first scenes/chapters to a Beta reader to see if they click :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it's important to read a sample of the other person's writing... after all, if you're a seasoned writer, nothing is more frustrating than reading through a first-draft with a ton of very basic errors like spelling, grammar, etc.
ReplyDeleteWhen you read a blurb of a story, it may seem interesting, but if you aren't a good match writing-wise, I think the relationship will only end badly and often with resentment/anger if one partner feels they are doing more than they are getting back.
Been there, done that, don't want to do it again :)
You scurvy dogs! Let's make us an accord, savvy?
ReplyDeleteUh, not really sure if I even said that right (LOL!!)

ReplyDeleteI love this day and celebrated it over at my blog as well! Poetry and pictures. So sad that we have to wait another year for it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a strange holiday...I wonder if Blizzard and World of Warcraft had anything to do with it.
ReplyDeleteLets all just stick to being house burglars trying to survive another day. That's more simple and makes everyone happy.
