I would love to write a proper post today... but my flight leaves at 7am tomorrow and I've got a lot to do, the primary chore being: look through the list of necessary products to bring for the three-hour-long fat-oil painting seminar I'm taking first thing Wednesday morning.
...and from the quick glance last night, half the items I either don't have, or don't know what they are.
So, uhm, yeah.
Fake it 'till you make it, right?
EDIT: Oh yeah, remember me saying I'll be the youngest person there by about 20-30 years? I just read on the agenda that there's a *fun* contest at the final banquet on Saturday, everyone's supposed to wear fascinators... and there will be judging/prizes/etc.
Between that and the guided-bus-tour to view tulips, it'll be a wild and crazy time, folks.
Oh my goodness, what am I getting myself into?
LOL!!! Well hope things go well with your preparations and that things are wonderful while there.
ReplyDeleteAs per usual, I'm packing at the last minute :) I swear I'm going to get my suitcase torn apart/searched since it's full of powdered paint, small jars of mysterious liquids (including turpentine), and pre-measured bags of protein powder, since I'm supposed to, like, not eat any carbohydrates until they succeed in kick-starting my liver ;)
DeleteSeriously, though, I'm really looking forward to it :)
I know my Nana would be so happy I'm doing this. I think it's a neat way to honour her memory, both by painting, and by continuing on her friendships within this community that she build over a couple decades.
It will be fine - old people aren't that bad... just go with flow and take tons of pics - bet you learn a lot too.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know :) I was more just joking.
DeleteYup, I'm already prepared to look like monkey discovering tools for the first time... I'm sure those old ladies have some mad-painting-skillz and I'll learn a ton from them :)
