Painting all week

Well, I'm staying at my painting friend/mentor's place all this week, and hopefully I'll be able to finish those two pieces I'm making for my two friends who are expecting end of October/mid-November (remember, I anticipate approximately 50 hours/piece, and that's not including the time it takes to fire, and these will need about 5 firings.) I may also toy with a few other small projects while I'm waiting for these two main pieces to fire...

Due to this, I'll probably be offline all week, other than checking email.

Friday, October 25th, is also the start of the Surrey International Writing Conference, so I'm not going to post a Flash Fiction Friday prompt this week. My Blue Pencil session is at 11:00am, YIKES! I just realized it's my Pitch Session on Friday, BP Session is Saturday!

...and I expect my brain to be in tatters much of the weekend, like a seagull getting sucked through a jet engine.

But in a good way :)

As in, overloaded with information/new experiences.

I'm also going to try to meet up with some other Vancouver NaNo-ers at the SIWC, which should be great, as one person has gone several times already and I've been mining her (and her patience) via email this past week. I'm also hoping it'll give me the chance to find a local writing group, as I fiercely miss my Victoria group... especially the strange conversational tangents than often sparked story ideas...

Hope everyone has as productive a week as I plan on having :)

  1. good luck with your projects, I think you're an awesome friend for making your pregger friends a unique and one of a kind gift. Have a fun time at the conference! You have to share everything you learn!

    1. I will endeavour to do so ;) Not sure how easy it will be to take notes on my laptop, but I will do my best :)

  2. Yes you have to share. I do plan on a writing week myself and hope to actually finish some projects. Maybe. I just spent most of the afternoon on my weekly bloggy. I can tell you all the problems with it and you would tell me even more but it's ok for now. Since it's part of a chapter for the "novel" it was pretty important that I get a handle on the content.

By the way, my Myth and Legend class truly sucks but that's one of the projects I hope to finalize.

  3. Damn, that is an insane amount of work. Kudos for it :)

    As for writing groups, yeah. I am HOPING to get something going out of nanowrimo this year, but we shall see .... the other group just meets once a month for general update, poking people and such but it's not the same;

Linda is doing nano, so Sua could meet by Skype.

I said, jokingly, but it IS an idea....

    1. Haha, well the entire first day we were doing planning/organization for the upcoming convention (May 2014), and so far today, more of the same... will get something done this afternoon.

It certainly makes a difference, what kind of group it is :)

      I've never used Skype before!!!

But yes, it is an idea...

  4. Very cool! Hope you like your NaNo group. It's nice to have a writing support system, whether it's online or in person.

    1. I've got lots of online writing buddies already, but what I do miss (after moving) is the IRL meet-ups to just hang out, chat about books, movies, whatever, and brainstorming together.

Type me out a line of Shakespeare or a line of nonsense. Dumb-blonde-jokes & Irish jokes will make me laugh myself silly :)
